S&W Model 35-1 .22LR
Smith & Wesson Model 35-1 Serial # M50753, a model of the 1953 .22 Kit Gun, but built on a J frame with a 6" barrel and a blue finish. The 35-1 was made from 1960 to 1973. Based upon its serial number, this gun likely was shipped in 1972. I have owned the pistol for about 15 years.
-- Excellent condition at 98%, or better, with very minimal handling wear.
-- The cylinder chambers are recessed.
-- The 6" barrel is pinned and has a narrow serrated sight rib with Patridge blade front sight in combination with a micrometer click-adjustable rear sight.
-- The trigger is grooved and the hammer is the semi-target type. Both hammer and trigger are case colored with the colors remaining vibrant.
-- The square butt 3-screw J frame is wearing the original S&W walnut stocks in excellent condition. All screw heads are sharp.
-- The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no pitting or corrosion.
A Bianchi thumb-snap #5B kit gun holster is included. Black in color with supple leather, the vintage holster is in very good condition. Bianchi and other name-brand brand makers no longer carry holsters for the model 35-1 so this vintage one in excellent condition was a fortuitous find.
This is a beautiful little pistol in wonderful condition and is great for plinking and varmint control. Considering its pristine conditon it also may be of interest to S&W collectors.
